The Cistus genus is a small group of shrubs from the mediterranean region growing on poor or rocky soils. Common name is rockrose.
Cistus will thrive in a sunbaked part of the garden provided they are given halp to establish. If planted in containers do not use peat or similar compost but ordinary mineral soil with sharp sand added. Only prune if absolutely vital and then only snip the current years growth.
No toxic, culinary or medicinal properties known.
